I’ll admit it.. I don’t know that many friends with a Wii and as of right now, it’s just me and my one friend. Yes, we have some potential others that will join us, but even so it would be nice to be able to have other Kart characters joining in via AI/computer. Can you do this or not?

no you can not
No, I’m afraid you cannot race the computer when playing online. However, if you and your friend want some other karts on the track, you can race other humans. If you have registered each other’s friend codes, simply go online and join a continental/worldwide race. Then, when the other person connects, if they go their friend roster it will show you as “I’m playing now!” or something similar, and they will have the option to join in on the next race.
