Do You Believe Wii Fit Will Actually Help People Get In Shape?

My sister has pre-reserved a copy of Wii Fit (set to come out on May 19 in America) and I’m really excited to use it. Do you believe it will help people get in shape? There’s other video games that have proved themselves in losing weight (just look at DDR, it even has a workout mode and counts how calories you lose, and there’s many stories from people who say it has worked), but how well will it work? Thanks.

I dont know how well it will work – but it does look really good and Im looking forward to trying it. Shame we have to wait so long for it – its been out in Japan for a long time.

It could, yes. It has exercises as part of it’s playlist, so it will provide the opportunity to exercise. Which is what it takes to get “in shape,” essentially.
If you are someone who doesn’t exercise, but you take the time to play WiiFit on a regular basis, then it will more than likely improve your health. But, just like an exercise program, it takes routine and commitment. Randomly playing every two or three weeks and eating a bag of Doritos while playing certainly won’t improve your health.
Just like I tell my friend who can’t settle on a workout program at the gym (is this better, is that better, how about this program, try this one), whatever motivates you to workout is good in my book. If my program gets me in the gym, then it’s a good program for me. If it doesn’t get my friend in the gym, then it’s not a good program for him.
If WiiFit gets you to exercise on a regular basis, then it can be a good thing.

yes, if you use it daily, and eat healthy, but if you only use it once than no, because it won’t be enough excersise. it looks cool

I think it wont make them be in tip top shape, but it will make them a little more in shape ecause the board is not big enough to walk on, you just stand on it. If it was more like a treadmill, you actually walk not stay in place, it would help even more.
