Hi, I just downloaded the homebrew channel onto my wii. I currently have the browser and a couple of old games, but I’m having trouble getting games like call of duty 5. From my understanding, you have to download the wii backup launcher and then burn discs. If so, how do i download the backup launcher and how do I burn discs. If that is not the way you do it please tell me what I have to do. PLEASE HELP!!!

First thing you need dvdx or whatever it’s called so your wii can read dvds and an way is to use hackmii which can install dvdx, homebrew channel, and bootmii which backs up your nand so before doing any major hacking it is suggested you get it. What it does is back up your wii by dumping the nand onto your sd card so you can use it to restore your wii the way it was when you backed up your wii. For backup launchers they might require a ios for it to work properly and you can get ioses for it either by installing it with an installer which connects to your network and installs it. You can also install by using a wad and you intall a wad by using a wad installer or manager. Many things could be affected by your firmware and if it is a low firmware than i suggest you use a firmware updater by the homebrew channel and not by nintendo. All an unofficial firmware updater does is install the only neccessary files such as the ioses, channels, menues, ect. Firmwareupdaters are either done by networking or wads if i am correct. By the way i forgot to mention this but the ioses for backup channels are called a cIOS and never go and randamly install a ios unless you know you need it. Another way to load backup *cough * pirated games *cough* games is by usb loader. And one thing about your burnt wii games make sure you use dvd -r not + and burn it at the slowest possible speed. Usb loader works by reading games from a usb hardrive or some sort of a usb storrage device. It’s not extremely compicated and yet again for the channel (there are many custom channels and versions of a usb loader channel) make sure you get the ios (if you need it) for that channel. You’re on the right track as of right now to get the backup launcher, by installing the homebrew channel. the installation process of the backup launcher is quite simple though. Go to http://www.Wiikendhacks.com they have a great tutorial and a well organized download pack for installing the backup launcher. it works great! the site is also very user friendly so if you need any help with the installation you can always email them.
