Need tips on buying modded wii?

So I found this $300 modded wii listing on craigslist:

http://toronto.en.craigslist.ca/tor/tag/733271239.html

Looks very sweet considering it comes with two nunchucks + remotes. Is there anything I should be aware about wiikey mod chips as listed in the link? Anything I should watch out for in case of wii scammers? I’m very new to the realm of wii (last console I had was a ps2).

Thanks!

The best thing to do is ask for the serial number and date of production. Call Nintendo and get the full history of the console and if it still has warranty. I got my xbox 360 from craigslist and I was scammed. Was told it is brand new and everything. Met the guy, paid him money, when I came home, I looked at the manufactrure’s data, it was in 2006. I called Microsoft and they told me it has been registered for two years. The guy basically had everything that came with it and put a new console and wrapped everything in the original packing and scammed me. Remember that these transactions are risky and they pay off is high if all goes good. But the loss is high as well because there is no proof of anything. If you monitor wii on eBay a week or so you will get a price around that and hopefully with less risk. Good luck!
