There are three Options:
Get a wireless router. This is very useful, so you don’t have to string cables all around your house to every computer and console you own. I would suggest getting one. You will use it often.
Get the Gamecube USB/ethernet dongle. I am not sure where you can buy one, or whether or not they still sell this, but when you plug this into your Wii you will then be able to plug the ethernet cord straight into the dongle.
The final option: Don’t do anything. The wii has nothing worth going online right now, other than virtual console games. There are no multiplayer games. The internet channel is useless if you are here right now. The weather channel tells the weather of a day ago. Unless you really want VC games, stick with what you have.
You have to use wireless. Nintendo told me the hardware to hard wire the Wii is not available yet.. Their tech support was very good when I called them. Go to Nintendo.com. the customer support number is there somewhere
