i wanted to upgrade to the latest version 4.0. i currently have a wii running the homebrew channel with v3.4. I want to know if i can just upgrade using the official nintendo update or do i have 2 use some special method.

Don’t listen to norway or what ever his name is. he is an education freak. Anyway if you use the nintendo update there are rumors that the homebrew channel will be deleted once you update.
If you use the official Nintendo update, your Homebrew Channel won’t get deleted, nor will any other homebrew apps. You WILL lose the ability to execute the Twilight Hack, install Homebrew Channel and DVDx if you don’t already have it installed. Anything previously installed will still work as normal.
There’s other methods out there than the official Nintendo update to upgrade to 4.0 which won’t break the above functionality.
