Is it just me or are the only people who enjoy or have a wii are old people, girls and Mario geeks?

The Wii has a family audience – from young to old.
If you are into Halo and blood and gore shoot-em-ups then the XBOX 360 or PS 3 are probably better suited for you.
It’s all about what you want from a game – I like the interraction with the remotes. You get to move around rather than sit on the couch. The Wii Fit can help you get better posture, balance and might even push some to do a little more excercise than they would normally do.
Everyone in my family enjoys using the Wii – through three generations. So yeah, Old people do like it, but it appeals to kids too. All the neighborhood kids have Miis on my Wii.
I’m a 23-year-old male that has been gaming since 1986, when i was old enough to hold a controller.
I bought the Wii the day it came out, and have never once regretted the decision. The games that are released for it (most of the time) show off unique gameplay features and innovative control schemes.
For example, Tomb Raider Anniversary (Which was also released on the xbox 360 and ps2) has a lot of added content that is exclusive to the wii and adds a lot of depth.
As far as “Mario Geeks” are concerned, Mario is the reason there is a gaming culture in America. The NES was released in 1985, which was a few years after a giant video game crash, where Atari and lots of other game companies had no quality control and were releasing hundreds of games all at once onto their consoles. When the video game market crashed, it was because people were simply bored of games.
It took a near miracle for Nintendo to be able to pull off a new video game system in America, and the reason it worked was because of Mario. He was a recognizable character, in a fantasy world. It was an addictive game, unlike anything seen before in any video game on a home console. If Nintendo hadn’t scored such a success, you wouldn’t be playing your Xbox today.
Just a little bit of information so you’ll know to think before you call people “Mario Geeks” again.
I think that the wii was meant to trget families. I think that for the most part is is women and children that have wii’s.
the target audience was families they have the fit for the house mom, pilates for the older crowd, tons of games for kids, fitness for men, sports for men. as you can se they tried to target lots of different kinds of people with their product
apparently, you just arent buying the right games. I love my wii, im not nearly old, im certainly not a girl, and i hate marios guts. you just need to look harder for the good games.
Nintendo is just opening up new options for new gamers, the current majority of gamers are young men/boys. There just widening there audience right now.
Well, what do you expect? The Wii is targeted at families and casual gamers. I enjoy the Mario games, mostly because I grew up playing them, so there’s a nostalgia aspect… but the Wii isn’t meant for hardcore gaming. That’s why I have a 360, in addition to my Wii.
I have a Xbox 360 and a Wii. The Wii is for more casual gamers and families who want to have fun. The Xbox 360 is for more intense gamers like Halo 3 and Call of Duty 4. I personally like the 360 better.
i think it was made for everyone..
girls seem to play it more.
boys are into the wii sports and things like that though.
and everyone knows old people like it.
so i guess families?
or a divorced lady with 2 kids living with her mom.
Is it just me, or are the only people who criticize a Wii people who have never played one and/or have some sort of inferiority complex related to playing too many FPSs?
well i bought it because it was cheap, and the 360 is a piece of ****. and the ps3 is to expensive
