I’m trying to use a generic USB microphone which I read was supposed to work with both of these games but neither game is recognizing it. I have two Wiimotes connected and currently not the guitar connected but it still won’t work in either game.
The microphone works in my computer and the USB ports on my Wii work to charge my cellphone so both devices are functioning.
Searching has yielded no help, just people asking if generic mics work and other people saying yes they do. Anyone have more insight for me?

Hate to tell you but not all mics are compatible with the Wii, and even then not all are compatible with Rock Band or Guitar Hero. The only one that works with all of them is the Logitech mic- the white one will work with all the Wii games.- I know- I’ve been through what your going through now. Bummer deal I know!
It’s most likely, as the last answerer said, the Mic that is malfunctioning. I use the Mic from Rockband on both GH and RB (also works for PC) on my Wii!
My wii mic did this, take it to the shop you got it from and try to get a replacement
