A few things:
Check the battery is charged
Check that the sensor bar is upright and the remote is facing it
If both above are checked, then you need to sync the controller to the Wii. To do that, switch your wii on and open the memory card slot and next to the slot you will see a small red button. Then, take off the battery cover. You will see a small red button next to the battery slots. Make sure you have batteries in your controller that are working. Then, hold the red button on the remote and also the red button on the wii next to the memory card slot and make sure the wii remote is facing the sensor bar!!! Then, once the they are synced, the controller should say that it is the 1st controller connected to the unit!!!
Hope this helps!
Some Wii Motes don’t come with rechargeable batteries. You can purchase rechargeable batteries at most stores now.
Also, check to see if it’s properly seated on the charger. Often, the cord that you to keep it from leaving your hands can cause it not to seat properly on the charger. I found taking the cord off or wiggling the remote around on the charger works well. If that doesn’t work, call Nintendo or go by a game store. They’ll be happy to help.
lol i had the same problem when i first got my wii… one controller would work and the other one would just flash and flash and flash… you have to sync it then go in the wii mote thingy.. press the home button and click on the controller at the bottom left hand corner of the tv screen and then you click on the reconnect thinger and press 1 and 2 down on the first wii mote at the same time.. let up, once the lights stop flashing its connected… then do the same for any following wii mote till they are all connected… you’ll have to keep reconnecting them though if they sit idle for too long.. pain in the butt, but easy enough to remedy
You have to put new batteries in the Wii mote. There is no way to charge it that I have found.
