the game I’m trying to play is tales of symphonia dawn of mana.
maybe there is something wrong with the game or settings on the wii?

YOU INSERTED THE DISC THE WRONG WAY!!!
The proper way to insert the game discs is to place the face (label) side AWAY from the power button. In the vertical position, the label should be facing to the right.
If you place the disc in the wrong way, the worst that can happen is that the system won’t recognize the disc. Just hit eject, flip the disc & try again. I have accidentally inserted the disc the wrong way when I first of my Wii, so I know it won’t hurt your Wii… only give you annoyances.
As long as you use only Wii & Gamecube games with your Wii (& not those Shape CD’s or business card-like CD’s), you should OK.

that happened to me when i first got my wii console, but when i put the disc the other way, it worked, so try putting the disc in the other way

if ur wii is standing vertically then the picture on the disc must face ur right
if ur wii is lying flat on the ground the picture on the disc must face up
