Hi, I have been loaned a Wii and bought a controller but it doesnt work. I have no setup details but noticed a red sync button by the batteries but holding that in doesnt do anything, can anyone help? Do i have to press anything else at the same time? Thanks all.

Open the small spot on the Wii for SD cards and in there you will find another sync button. Press both sync buttons at once multiple times and it should work.
i think the power button i’ve had my wii for like 7mts and can’t remember how i did it but it has nothing to do with the red button i know that. hope i helped lol have fun
I have this problem all the time we lose power alot. You must press the sync button on the counsel first then the one on the battery back. i may take a few tries .
All you have to do is:
1. open the door to the sd card on the wii, there should be a sync button
2. hold the sync button on the controller at the same time as the wii
just open the slot by the the disc slot (where you put the sd card) press the red sync button by by the sd card slot then press the one in your wii remote..
Well open the SD slot under the “Reset” button and the wii remote red button you discoverd do not hold the red buttons for more than 10 seconds at it will clear all the other remotes
