I used to have this problem and this is what you need to check/do:
*Check that you have choosen the correct connection and if you have a password you have entered the correct password.
*Make sure the router channel is set to 11 or 1.
*Make sure the wii is in range of router, test via a laptop or mobile to see if the wireless gets picked up.
*Try and remove big metal objects that may get in the way of the router and wii as metal will absorb the signal thus resulting in poor coverage. Or move the wii or router to avoid this problem.
*Update the firmware for the router. This was my problem. Simply type in your router model number followed by ‘firmware update’ on google and you will find what you need.
Hope this helps!!!
